Rhythmic music department

Presentation

The rhythmic music department is an integral part of the institution’s core strategic goals, directly aligning with key challenges around professional integration, artistic hybridity, and transdisciplinarity.

The teaching team is dedicated to sharpening each student’s unique artistic identity in connection with today’s professional environment. The program is backed by a strong professional network and key partnerships across the entire music industry.

Instrumental masterclasses and creative workshops – led by active musicians with diverse backgrounds from the current music scene – are an essential component of the curriculum.

To meet the work environement demands, the program places a strong focus on developing each musician’s skills in arrangement, orchestration, and songwriting.

Optional elective paths are available to expand career prospects, including options in film scoring and music for live performing arts.

During their studies, every student will complete an internship within an organization specialized in contemporary music (venues, festivals, record labels, recording studios, booking agencies, etc.).

For instrumental lessons, instructors are assigned to students by the department coordinator based on their individual artistic profiles.

Profesionnal integration skills

Each student’s professional network is developed through meetings with industry professionals, offering a deeper understanding of the challenges across live performing arts, digital media, publishing, audiovisual, production, and the creative industries. Managers, producers, artistic directors and programmers from SMACs (Contemporary Music Venues), national stages, and festivals, as well as record label executives, film composers, and video game composers—these key encounters provide essential insights into the professional sector.
